Quotable: Stieg Larsson on neo-Nazism

“To claim that neo-Nazism is just a transitory fashion is a myth that has been allowed to take root for too many years. The effect is that the authorities — for lack of any better alternative — call in social workers in the mistaken belief that neo-Nazis are youths with alcohol problems or dysfunctional backgrounds. Nazism is a political movement. Nazis become Nazis for exactly the same reasons that others become Liberals or Social Democrats — from belief and conviction. A political movement has to be fought by political opposition.”

–Stieg Larsson, Expo, 1999.
