Do cops have the obligation to stop a massacre and rescue the survivors? Shockingly, at least in Texas, the answer appears to be NO. Jeff Waldorf breaks it down:
So, they not only sat with one thumb up their bungholes and the other hooked around a doughnut, they LIED about it.
But wait, there’s MORE:
Yeah, you heard that right. The cops were not only cowardly, lying chickenshits, they even blamed the victims — the TEACHERS — for the crime that took their lives. And they didn’t rescue all the kids, just those few that happened to be their own.
I would shame them for this, but given the half-pint of brains split amongst all those ten-gallon hats, I don’t think any of it would penetrate. They lack the wits even to be ashamed. But I will say this: Those fucking cops just made the best possible case for their own defunding that they ever could have made.
Jeremy Scahill exposes a period of history that Second Amendment right-wingers would just as soon have us all forget. Namely, that time Ronald Reagan — then governor of California — and the NRA both were heavily in favor of gun control, but only of a very selective kind. The racist kind, of course.
But don’t let them hear you say the r-word. As that clip of Dana Loesch shows, right-wingers are delicate little snowflakes, terribly easily triggered by words that accurately describe them and their ideology: racist, sexist, phobic, and fascist.
And their habit of going out gun-grabbing — oh sorry, “shopping” — every time there’s a massacre and talk of gun control — really speaks to their murderous tendencies, too.
Can you believe he said this? Well, okay, I can believe it, because it’s dumb, and dumbth is fully in character for Dubya. But can you believe he played it for laughs?
And of course, he blames it on being 75. Which, in my opinion, is good for him getting a shoe thrown at his head all over again. And this time, since he’s nearly 20 years older and presumably slower than he was back in 2003, there’s a good chance that the shoe would hit.
But of course, since he’s in front of an adoring audience, none of whom are Iraqis, all he gets is complicit laughter and applause. Which is sickening.
And, as David Doel and others point out in the video, of course there’s no chance that he’ll ever get dragged before a war-crimes tribunal. Which is even MORE sickening.
But you know what nauseates me most of all? This fucking fascist hypocrite — and yes, Dubya is all of that — having the audacity to slam Pooty-Poot (which is a nickname I got from Dubya himself) for committing war crimes in Iraq — oh sorry, Ukraine. Is that any way to talk about the man whose soul you once saw and liked, Dubya? After all, you’re both fucking war criminals. And you both have yet to see justice.
I’m sorry, I meant to write that he’s a closet perv who probably likes watching teenage girls doing what they’d never do with him. Okay, guys, take it away, please:
Oh gee, my heart bleeds for them. Where have we seen THIS mode of “protest” before?
Yup, that’s right. These rich Karens basically chopped up their own money to spite their faces…or rather, to “own” Chanel…by no longer owning one piece by Chanel.
Why not just burn some rubles while you’re at it, Kareninas? Bog knows you’d never join your wiser, much poorer fellow Russians on the streets who are out there being truly brave, AND fighting Russophobia in real terms, by protesting the war started by your oligarch-in-chief…
In honor (heh) of the 40th anniversary of the Falklands (Malvinas) war, here’s a song that was written about it back in the day.
Gotta say, too, that Cy Curnin has aged a lot better than flyboy Prince “Randy” Andrew, who supposedly was left unable to sweat after his participation in that pseudo-heroic farce.
This is as close as we can get to a smoking gun for January 6, y’all:
The lack of an official White House notation of any calls placed to or by Trump for 457 minutes — from 11:17 a.m. to 6:54 p.m. — on Jan. 6, 2021 means there is no record of the calls made by Trump as his supporters descended on the U.S. Capitol, battled overwhelmed police and forcibly entered the building, prompting lawmakers and Vice President Mike Pence to flee for safety.
The 11 pages of records — which consist of the president’s official daily diary and the White House switchboard call log — were turned over by the National Archives earlier this year to the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack.
Internal White House records from the day of the attack on the U.S. Capitol that were turned over to the House select committee show a gap in President Donald Trump’s phone logs of seven hours and 37 minutes, including the period when the building was being violently assaulted, according to documents obtained by CBS News’ chief election & campaign correspondent Robert Costa and The Washington Post’s associate editor Bob Woodward.

The records show that Trump was active on the phone for part of the day, documenting conversations that he had with at least eight people in the morning and 11 people that evening. The gap also stands in stark contrast to the extensive public reporting about phone conversations he had with allies during the attack.

The House panel is now investigating whether Trump communicated that day through backchannels, phones of aides or personal disposable phones, known as “burner phones,” according to two people with knowledge of the probe, who, like others interviewed for this report, spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive information. The committee is also scrutinizing whether it received the full log from that day.
The records show that former White House chief strategist Stephen K. Bannon — who said on his Jan. 5 podcast that “all hell is going to break loose tomorrow” — spoke with Trump twice on Jan. 6.
A spokesman for the committee declined to comment.
In a statement Monday night, Trump said, “I have no idea what a burner phone is, to the best of my knowledge I have never even heard the term.”
But former Trump national security adviser John Bolton said in an interview Tuesday, after the CBS News-Washington Post reporting had been published, that he recalls Trump using the term “burner phones” in several discussions and that Trump was aware of its meaning.
Bolton said he and Trump have spoken about how people have used “burner phones” to avoid having their calls scrutinized.
I never thought I’d see the day when I’d actually be Team Sheepdog Bolton (and I’m still actually not), but for once the rotten old liar got out-rottened and out-lied. That alone is a pretty stunning achievement. For once, Bolton actually told the truth about something or someone. Yow!
I can well believe that Earthen Vessel Mads was invited to a coke-fueled orgy (this is DC Repukes we’re talking about, after all) — but all I can picture him doing is hoovering up all the white stuff and then spinning around in his wheelchair like mad (heh), screaming “I’m ready for the hookers, baby! Where the hookers at?”
And yes, the saddest part is that I can believe he would go, too.
PS: Hooboy, looks like someone’s in trouble:
Yeah, Maddy-boy, who invited you? Inquiring minds all over the world would love to know.
Ontario MPP Randy Hillier has been released with conditions after being criminally charged in relation to his participation in the ‘Freedom Convoy’ occupation of downtown Ottawa.
Hillier, 64, arrived at Ottawa police headquarters early Monday morning and surrendered to police. He faces nine charges, including assaulting a peace officer.
His release comes with strict conditions, including a $35,000 bond and an order not to post on social media about the ‘Freedom Convoy’ and COVID-19 mask and vaccine mandates.
Hillier is facing two counts each of obstructing a public officer, counselling mischief and mischief/obstructing property over $5,000.
He is also charged with obstructing a person aiding a peace officer, assaulting a peace or public officer and counselling an uncommitted indictable offence.
Welp, looks like that’s that, at least for now.
Meanwhile, here’s a little item to file under “Boo Fucking Hoo”:
And yes, I’m feeling very schadenfreudig right now. Considering all the harm he’s done, it’s nice to see him face some consequences. They are LONG overdue.
Fear doesn't travel well; just as it can warp judgment, its absence can diminish memory's truth. What terrifies one generation is likely to bring only a puzzled smile to the next.
